Holbrook scored the first points of the second quarter, but strong defence by Amazons stopped Holbrook scoring. Amazons were pressing hard and picking off loose passes to create lots of fast breaks.

With Lydia Stapely’s strong drives to the hoop Holbrook turned to fouling to stop her, leaving them in foul trouble and giving Amazons free throws. Amazons racked up the points this quarter to lead 35-15 at half-time.

The third quarter started very physically, though Amazons still had the upper hand. Amazons were able to increase their lead through fast breaks by Vicky Smith. Holbrook scored only four points all quarter. Amazons had extended their lead to 52-19.

Amazons kept up the intensity in the fourth. They were pressing hard on defence, not allowing Holbrook any room to play. The match ended with a convincing win.
