Bigg signing for Bexhill

BEXHILL United have bolstered their hopes of a top five finish with the signing of former Westfield player Tim Bigg.

Bigg, who lives in Bromley and hasn't been playing competitively this season, joined after casting his eye over Len Watkins' improving Sussex Division Three side.

A delighted Watkins said: "He is a very good midfield player. He's strong in possession, good in the tackle and very good all round."

Bigg will go straight into the squad for the hastily-arranged trip to bottom club Bosham on Saturday January 18.

The teams last met a couple of months ago when Bexhill won 13-0, although Watkins expects a much tougher match this time round. "It will be a completely different test," he said.

United's second team face an important home game against high-flying Heathfield United as they bid to turn around their East Sussex Premier fortunes.
