BONNAR'S BIG DAY

ON SATURDAY, Norfolk's Matt Bonnar will take to the green at White Rock, Hastings, for the most important match of his bowls career to date.

Bonnar takes on Hurstpierpoint's Dave Welsh in the Sussex Singles Final (3pm) and Bonnar is in two minds about the forthcoming contest.

Since seeing off Wadhurst's Bill Crittall 21-17 at Newick in the Sussex semi, Bonnar has been wished the best of luck at every turn; something he naturally expected, but he feels under a little bit of pressure.

Bonnar explained: "This is my first time in the finals but, now that I'm there, I wish it was all over and done with. There's a lot of pressure, because I don't want to let anybody down."
