EP secured a comfortable 150-run win over Portslade, thanks to an impressive batting and fielding display, including a knock of 101 from Chris Williams.

Reeves said: "I was hoping to be out of the bottom two by the mid-way stage in the season, but, hopefully, we can push on from here and concentrate on getting up the league in the second half.

East Preston's opener Tim Miles smashed 47 while Williams put on 101, as they made 152 for the first wicket.

Tom Reeves then made 34 not out to combine with Tom Chamberlain's 19 as they finished at 245-8, where they declared after 48.2 overs.

In Portslade's response Ian Morley hit 25 and Tom Nickolson smashed 37, but Packham (10) was the only other batsmen to make double figures.

Mark Coskin led EP's attack with 5-27, while Gareth Bunday took 2-22.

Reeves said: "It was a clinical display all round and very nice to get the win.

"They stuck us in, which is probably what I would have done to them as the wicket looked a bit green and variable in places, which is what the bounce showed.

"Although, they didn't use it to well and we took advantage. Chris raced too 100 and Tim did very well to.

"I was very happy with the target and we carried on the batting display into the bowling and pretty much dispatched them."

Reeves is unavailable next week and may be out for up to a couple of months after having an operation on a blocked hernia this week.

EP are also without Richard Laker and Dan Miles for their clash with Portslade on Saturday.

Arundel missed an opportunity to move off the bottom of Division 3 West in the Sussex League as they lost to Findon by eight wickets.

It was a bottom of the table clash in Division 3 West, and the result sees second-bottom side Findon distance themselves from Arundel and move within 13 points of Henfield and the teams above them.

Arundel, having lost the toss, were put into bat and only five batsmen made double figures as they slumped to 91 all out after 34.4 overs.

Mickey Demetriou led the Findon attack taking 4-57 while Harry Metters claimed 4-18.

Findon were quickly reduced to 17-2, as Bradley Bridson was dismissed by Harrison Temple for 0, before Temple also claimed captain Barry Meaney's wicket while he was on 13.

However Glen Bridson (32*) and Felix Jordon (41*) came in to steer Findon to 98-2, and their first win of the season.

Clymping picked up a fine win in Division 1 of the Invitation League as they beat Southwick by three wickets.

Clymping won the match by three wickets, getting over the line with just 11 balls to spare as they made 233-7, after Southwick had one the toss and set about making 230-8.

Martyn Rea hit an impressive 43 while Stuart MacNeill made 35 not out, but captain Chris Summers led the way with 80 in Southwick's bat.

Paul Challen and Ross Waddington claimed the best figures for Clymping, with 2-36 and 2-46 respectively.

Kim Dean, having been bowled out on a no-ball when in single figures, went on to make an impressive 51.

Chris Green hit 66, while Karl Pierce, who was dropped while still in single figures, also gave an impressive knock of 63.

Paul Grennan led the Southwick attack taking 3-60, while Warwick McClymont and Summers chipped in with 2-45 and 2-53 respectively, but it wasn't enough to halt Clymping as they reached the total with three men still left to bat.
