They lost the toss and were put into bat by Gildredge House School.

This worked out well as George Mercer and Martyn Box were sensational.

George finally succumbing for 76 and Martyn remaining in bat for the full 20 overs and scoring a whopping 139 runs.

That left Gildredge House with 221 to win, a tough task.

The Oakmeeds bowlers started confidently with George Mercer and Ewan McLaren minimising runs in the first five overs.

Slowly but surely we started to pick off the batters, Joe Smith taking three wickets, Ewan McLaren taking a wicket, Tommy Bowles and Martyn Box taking two wickets each.

Eventually Joe Smith caught out the last batter from Hamish Gartrell’s bowling to win the game by 154 runs in the 15th over.

A fantastic assured performance from all involved.
