Sam Adams hits 63 as Ansty hammer Pulborough

Ansty enjoyed a 134-run win against Pulborough on Saturday.

Pulborough won the toss at home and asked Ansty to bat first.

The pitch proved to be lively and the first wicket fell on 6 that of Tom Woodall for 2.

Fellow opener Harry Towler departed LBW for 8 with the score 28. Will Wright (21) and Jon Young (14) put on 24 for the third wicket.

When Wright was out Leo Anderson and Luke Forster pushed the score along with a partnership of 31that ended with Forster being caught and bowled by Imran Khan for 22.

Anderson went on to 29 before being caught off the bowling of Tom Dunger. Sam Palser also went the way of Forster for 13 but Sam Adams struck a splendid 63 supported by skipper Glenn Anson (11) to see Ansty to 211- 9. Imran Khan took 4-63 and Tom Dunger 3-72 for the home side.

Pulborough’s reply began with Saurabh Tiwari and James Heimers who saw the score to 17 when Heimers was bowled by Sam Adams for 8. Adams then bowled Tiwari with the score on 36 for 21. Peter Wood (22) and Imran Khan (25) then added 40 for the third wicket but when Khan fell to Bill Barker at 76 what happened next was difficult to comprehend. From 76-2 the only run added to the total was a wide as seven wickets fell for no run. Pulborough surrendered the match 77 all out, a resounding win for promotion chasing Ansty.

Glenn Anson bowled one over taking 4 wickets for 0 runs. Sam Adams, Sam Palser and Will Wright each took two wickets.
