EP IN PROMOTION THRILLER
THREE goals in the opening 14 minutes, a disputed penalty, a liberal sprinkling of yellow cards and a goalkeeper sent off this vital, pulsating County League Division 2 match on Saturday had almost everything.
It was as if none of the players paid heed to the howling wind that might have been expected to spoil the match. Every effort was made by both sides to pass the ball and the crowd were given a treat.
Neither side will have been completely satisfied with one point, for Eastbourne wanted to consolidate their third spot and EP, 17 points behind, but with eight games in hand, needed to close the gap on their visitors.
