Feast of festive football

FOOTBALL fans will be spoilt for choice over the festive season.

Sidley United and Bexhill United are both at home on Saturday December 21 and again on Boxing Day (Thursday).

The Blues will be looking to begin their climb up Division One when Whitehawk visit Gullivers at the weekend before welcoming local rivals Hailsham Town five days later. Third Division Bexhill entertain Forest and then tackle Newhaven.

Sidley joint manager Glen Sully is urging his players to get physical against sixth-placed Whitehawk as they try to get their stop-start season back on track. "We know we can match Whitehawk but we will need to be much more physical because they are not dirty, but just a very strong and physical side," he said.

Bexhill have bolstered their squad with the signings of Dickie Anderson from Shinewater Association and Darrell Shaw from Little Common.

Sidley's match against Whitehawk kicks-off at 3pm, while Bexhill's clash with Forest starts at 1.45pm. Both Boxing Day games kick-off at 11am.
