Bosham footballers have a new look - clubhouse soon will too

BOSHAM FC have a new look after taking delivery of their new kit which shows off a sponsorship deal with Wickes they won in a competition.

The Sussex League division-three team won a package worth up to £20,000 from the home improvement retailer in a link-up with The Sun newspaper.

The deal includes a full clubhouse makeover by Wickes which will breathe new life into the club’s facilities, and the team will be given professional training.

Bosham manager Tony Hancock, also known as Big Tone, said: “We’re so happy to have won this sponsorship package with Wickes. It’s a well-needed boost for all of our players, chairman and committee, and such an honour to have been picked out of all the teams who entered.”

They were chosen from almost 300 teams who entered.

Wickes brand marketing director Tony Holdway, said: “Everyone at Wickes is delighted to be helping Bosham FC, a village team who have been around for more than 100 years.

“Local support for the team is fantastic, a great example of how football can bring a community together. At Wickes, we live by passion and pride – Bosham FC and their supporters have this in abundance.

“Clubhouse maintenance is funded through player and local residents’ contributions. The club makeover is going to make a real difference to them, and we are proud to be putting our name to it.”

The players, who’s day jobs vary from primary school teacher to trainee tree surgeon, are keen to get started on the clubhouse makeover, according to Hancock.
