Here, Albion historian Ian Hine gives us his top 15 players signed from overseas clubs. Some classy, some controversial but all memorable.
9. Hemed 89 apps, 32 goals (2015-2019)
Signed from Almera. Endeared himself to Albion fans with an injury-time spot-kick at Fulham in August of that year. Went off the boil after that but recovered to finish as the clubs top scorer that season with 17 goals. Now with Charlton Athletic
10. Hans Kraay 23 apps, 3 goals (1983-1985)
The first continental player to appear in Albions team in peacetime. He was also one of the most controversial. An incredibly enthusiastic player, much loved by the North Stand for his pogo celebration. Mainly remembered for his reckless tackling, eventually released in September 1985
11. David Lopez 65 apps, 7 goals (2012-2014)
Signed as a free agent from Athletic Bilbao in August 2012, Spanish Dave was an important member of the team that reached the play-offs in 2012/13. Best remembered for his pin-point free-kick against Crystal Palace in the same campaign.
12. Radostan Kishshev 32 apps (2010/11)
A Bulgarian international with 88 caps signed from Litex Lovech. He made a stylish addition to Albions midfield in the 2010/11 League One promotion campaign. Made his debut away at Swindon Town after signing a one-year contract under Gus Poyet. Technically excellent.
