Chichester ladies have plenty in reserve to beat East Preston

In their first derby of the season, Chichester Ladies II beat East Preston & Littlehampton seconds 5-1.

They made the start they needed as they nicked the ball from the kick-off and four passes later Natalie Spencer scored.

Littlehampton were shocked and found it hard to get a foot on the ball as Imogen Horne and Natalie Clarke were having most of the ball on the Chichester left.

Woman of the match and debutant Jenn Morley and Jemma Cottam were tackling well in midfield and their passing was giving Littlehampton the run-around.

Becky Steed smashed the ball from the halfway line to find the top corner, giving the Littlehampton keeper no chance.

Littlehampton scored with a well-taken free-kick to the top corner to make it 2-1. But Chichester continued to threaten hitting the woodwork before fantastic passing led to Cottam scoring from outside the area to make it 3-1 before half-time.

In the second half, captain Steed was in full command of the back four and Lucy Harnett was solid beside her.

Predators made up for losing the season’s first encounter between the sides.

They started strongly and after a great move down the right, Abbie-Rose Stone found the net.

This was followed by Shannon Aauberry scoring her tenth of

game.

After the break Ashton Pinkney broke free and struck home into the bottom corner. Worthing fought back with a goal scored direct by their keeper.
