It was Maguire-Drew’s first goal for the Reds, since signing on loan from Leyton Orient, and it was one to remember, as he fired a cracking shot in off the post to earn all three points.
Here’s how John Yems’ side rated in their valiant win.
9. James Tilley - 7
Looked lively throughout. A misplaced pass to Nadesan looked a wasted opportunity as Crawley looked to hit the visitors on the break. Tracked back well with some good defensive work. A dangerous run midway through the second-half looked to cause Cheltenham's defence some problems. Perhaps unlucky to be replaced by Jordan Maguire-Drew for the final 20 minutes.
10. Ashley Nadesan - 6
Spurned a glorius chance to give the hosts the lead in the final ten minutes of the first-half as he nicked it past the keeper but couldn't find the empty net from a tricky angle. Poked an effort just wide shortly after the hour mark after a good move. The striker couldn't quite find the finish in injury-time, to seal the game, after being found in acres of space by Maguire-Drew.
11. Tom Nichols - 7
The ex-Cheltenham loanee was almost gifted the opening goal in the second half. Nichols was on the floor when Sean Long bizzarely played straight back to him, but the forward couldn't beat the keeper when one-on-one. Didn't have too many other chances but nearly put the ball in his own net in added time in the first-half but the crossbar came to his rescue. Without a goal in eight games now for Nichols but he worked hard throughout and it was him who provided the pass to Maguire-Drew for the match-winner.
12. Jordan Maguire-Drew - 9
Super sub! Maguire-Drew scored his first for the club in fine style to give Crawley a late lead. He continued to look a real thorn in Cheltenham's defence thereafter. Nearly added a superb assist to his name after a darting run in injury-time but Nadesan couldn't finish.
