Fan favourite Campbell back with Bognor

The left-back has rejoined and will be in the squad that takes on Bowers & Pitsea at Nyewood Lane in the Isthmian premier division on Saturday.

He was at Lewes on Wednesday night to sign and watch his team-mates in action in a vital 1-0 victory.

Pearce has been speaking to the speedy left-back with a view to welcoming him back in to the Bognor set-up.

It will provide a huge boost to the Rocks' ambitions of gaining promotion through the play-offs.

Pearce said: "We obviously know all about Kristian and his qualities and now we can bring him to the club it will give us options at the back.

"As for the play-offs, we still feel that we can be in and around them come the end of the season – but what we must do is put together a run of wins. We need to push on and we have every confidence in the players to do this, but, as we have said all season, most teams in the division are capable of beating one another."

Left-back Campbell became a fans' favourite during his previous spell with the club during the 2017/18 campaign before moving to National League Bromley.

He subsequently switched to National League South Eastbourne Borough but left the club a month ago after what was described by the Priory Lane hierarchy as a "disciplinary meeting". A statement added: "The decision has been made with a very heavy heart, but the club were left with no alternative to the action which it has taken. No further comment will be made.”
