Hastings capture King

As reported by www.hastingsunitedfc.co.uk, King has become the latest player to commit his Ryman Football League Division One South future to United, along with midfielder Tom Vickers, who is out for several months after surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon.

United manager Terry White said: “Jahmahl is another player with the right sort of character to compliment our new squad, as he has a very impressive and professional attitude.

“He is a great athlete, and is also of a good stature, which is something that I felt we lacked at times last year, but having already added Jahmahl, Razor (Sean Ray), Cooky (Dave Cook) and Ade (Olorunda) to our ranks, we will certainly be a lot bigger, and better, both physically and mentally.”

King started his career with Dagenham & Redbridge, when the Essex outfit was a Conference club, but he was unable to force his way into the first team set-up and joined Horsham for the first of two spells ahead of the 2010/11 campaign.

His second stint with the Hornets began in February 2013, and he has also turned out for Hayes & Yeading, Banstead Athletic, Redhill, Crawley Down Gatwick, Walton Casuals, Horsham YMCA and Ringmer.

He was one of two Horsham players to be sent-off when United beat their West Sussex rivals 4-2 in an FA Trophy tie at The Pilot Field last October and followed up by scoring the own goal that gave the U’s a 2-1 league victory a week later, but was at his best when the Hornets won the return fixture 2-0 in April.
