Hillians face difficult start as Ryman season kicks off

Burgess Hill Town FC make the trip to Hythe Town this Saturday as the new Ryman League season kicks off.

Manager Ian Chapman is pleased with how pre-season has gone and the new signings brought into the Club during the summer.

Hill completed their pre-season on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Sussex County League champions East Preston but is expecting a tough game away at Hythe.

He said “Hythe away on Saturday is a very difficult first game, but in saying that I do feel they are in a group of about 12 sides that could be in the shake up this season, it is a very open league”

“For ourselves it is all about improving season after season so we would really like to finish higher than last season’s 6th place. I do feel we have a squad to achieve that but we will have to obviously be more consistent than last year.”
