Lions don't have to wait long for Wyatt

With Pagham's first team having no fixture, the spotlight fell on Luke Cooper's reserve side '“ and they didn't disappoint, beating Peacehaven 1-0 in the Sussex League Reserve Section Premier.

Anders Wyatt’s first-minute goal saw off Peacehaven to give the Lions their third win on the trot.

With the goal coming so early it could have been a rout, but a determined show from the visitors saw the Lions just edge it.

With Wyatt going off injured the Lions lost a little of their cutting edge, but a superb second-half display from young keeper Luke Munt kept Peacehaven at bay as they started shooting on sight.

Lying second, only six points behind leaders Eastbourne Town reserves, whose first team play in the Ryman League, Cooper’s side are looking the part.

With eight goals scored in their last three games without reply, the second string are well-placed to emulate the first team. Next up Hassocks reserves visit Nyetimber Lane with the visitors looking to do the double over Pagham.
