Morecambe 3, Crawley Town 1: Nadesan goal not enough for Reds as Shrimps claim all three points
Crawley Town left the North West with nothing as League Two's surprise package Morecambe won 3-1.
John Yems made one change to the side which beat Exeter City on Saturday with Jake Hesketh replacing Davide Rodari.
There was a lively start to the game with tow goals inside the first 15 minutes.
It was the home side who took the lead through Cole Stockton after just five minutes. But the lead only lasted eight minutes.
An excellent long ball from George Francomb into Jordan Maguire-Drew who brought it down gracefully before his shot at goal was palmed away by Mark Halstead palms but only on into the path of Nadesan, who scored.
That's how it remained for the rest of the half.
But it was the home side who get their noses ahead again on 59 minutes when Jordan Slew and Stephen Hendrie combined well on the left flank leading to a dangerous ball across the face of goal that Carlos Mendes-Gomes got on the end of.
Mendes-Gomes then hit the post before a double change for the Reds saw Josh Wright and James Tilley replace Nick Tsaroulla and Jake Hesketh.
The home side looked to extend their lead but Glenn Morris and the woodwork denied John O'Sullivan and Stockton respectively.
But they did get their third goal with two minutes left on the clock when Mendes-Gomes claimed his second of the night.
