H&B tackle tricky trip

HASTINGS & Bexhill are hoping to finally end their extended mid-season sabbatical by tackling a tricky trip to mid-table Horsham on Saturday January 18.

The Sussex One promotion hopefuls have not played a competitive rugby fixture since their narrow defeat at the hands of Pulborough at the start of December.

Since then Chichester Institute failed to raise a team and the top-of-the-table clash away to Uckfield was twice hit by bad weather.

Looking ahead to tomorrow's clash, assistant coach Rob Hamilton said: "There won't be any complacency on our part because we know it will be a hard match. We are a little bit rusty but I have no doubt so are Horsham."

H&B's only doubt is Craig Burgess who needs an operation to his wrist. Kick-off is 2.15pm.

The Uckfield match looks like being played the following weekend.
