It's a smash at open championship- table tennis

YOUNG table tennis players from all over West Sussex took part in the Open Junior Championships held by the South-West Table Tennis League.

THE event is for junior players not in the top 12 under-18s (boys) and top six girls. It is designed to give all other players a chance against other young players of similar ability.

Event organiser Chris Newberry, who is chairman of the local league and the Sussex Table Tennis Association, said he was delighted with the large entry from Sussex, with Crawley in the north, Eastbourne in the east and Chichester in the west, with strong representation from Littlehampton.
