London 2012 medallist delights Chichester pupils with visit

Chichester High School for Boys as part of the Sky Sports living for sport project.

The 27-year-old is a mentor for the project and proved a big hit as her enthusiasm for her sport and

inspiring others to follow her is infectious.

She was involved with four classes during the day, which included a masterclass with Year 7s, a question-and-answer session and some hockey tips with the sixth-form hockey team (pictured).

There was a chance for the pupils to have their pictures taken with the bronze medal Danson won with her GB tram at the London Games.

Danson said: “I have been really busy since the Olympics as a mentor and am travelling all over. Chichester is a lovely city and I have enjoyed my visits. This project is just brilliant and I really enjoy going into the schools and inspiring young people.”

Head of PE Neil Zanger said: “To have a high-profile athlete here can only inspire. It is brilliant Alex is spending some of her valuable time talking to students and helping them realise they can achieve a dream.”
