Lucy Williams qualifies for World and European Dualathon Championships

Although March is not in the Triathalon Season, club members are aften found to be participating in running and duathalon events.

On Sunday Lucy Williams competed in the Bedford Autodrome Sprint Duathalon. This duathlon includes the excitement of a mass start, and the thrill of racing around the smooth, fast tarmac of Bedford Autodrome motor racing track, with plenty of vantage points where friends and family can view your performance and cheer you on.

The event comprises a 5km run, 20km bike ride and finishes with a 2.5km run.Lucy finished 7th in her age group in 1hr 10mins 22secs and this performance has enabled her to qualify for the World and European Championships later in the year.

On Saturday Doug Mac Taggart competed in the Thames Meander Marathon completing the run in 4hrs 28min 06secs.
