Rooks crack five

Paul Booth netted a hat-trick as Lewes thrashed Dorchester 5-1 in the Conference South on Saturday. Craig O'Connor and Simon Wormull got the others.

Lewes, who won 4-0 at Dorchester in the FA Cup in October, had gone behind to a disputed penalty on 14 minutes, but O'Connor equalised on 22 minutes and Wormull made it 2-1 18 minutes after the break. Booth struck in the 74th, 81st and 86th minutes.

Manager Steve King said: 'We were magnificent, it was our best performance of the season.'

The Rooks are due to visit Horsham in the Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final tomorrow evening (Tuesday), kick-off 7.45pm.
