Playing on the artificial surface at Brighton RFC, the team’s attitude and commitment were the two attributes that paved the way for another great team performance and the spirit with which the U13s play the game also allowed Heath to introduce two new players - Nathaniel Benstead and George Creavy - to junior league rugby. It was a one-sided yet engrossing contest in which Heath’s greater fluency out wide and their dominant scrum provided the platform to launch several flowing moves from all parts of the field.

It was a real pleasure to see the Guernsey players kept their heads up and they fought right to the end, with both teams showing incredible discipline in the horrid conditions. A great example of why rugby is such a great team game for teenagers – if you know anyone who would like to join Heath and experience the ingrained rugby values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship, contact Heath Director of Rugby Glen Jones on [email protected]
