Saxons keep alive slim title hopes

South Saxons pulled off one of their best wins of the season to stay in the title hunt.

The Hastings club won 2-0 away to fourth-placed Lewes III to remain four points behind South Hockey League Sussex Area - Division One leaders Horsham II with two games to go.

Jamie Busbridge gave Saxons a half time lead and Alex Coombs made sure of the points after the break. Man of the match George Deaves made a brilliant save from Lewes’ one real chance.

A full report will appear in Friday’s Hastings Observer.
