This was the first time that the event was registered as a Licensed Meet, meaning that the times achieved could be used to enter County and National competitions in the future. It was also only open to those who were classified, or who are on the classification waiting list.

Georgina Williams continued to show improvement in all but one of her six events, the most significant PB’s being in the 50, 100 and 200 metres freestyle.

Fabienne Andre showed improved times in two of her five events, but more importantly the licensed times she has achieved have allowed her entry into the Disability Junior Nationals in Sheffield at the beginning of March. There she will compete in the 50m, 100m and 400m freestyle events.

Christopher Lovejoy was delighted to achieve personal best times in four of his five events, the most improvement being in the 25m breaststroke where he had a 12 second PB! He is showing steady improvement in the longer distances and competed in the 100m freestyle event for the first time.

Seb Ward was rewarded in the final event of the evening with a one second PB in the 50m freestyle. Before this he achieved his first official time in the 400m freestyle event and was pleased to come very close to his entry time.

These very successful swims were a just reward for these dedicated swimmers who train very hard between competitions.
