Looking to an even better music festival

Over the past 10 years it has brought many world class performers to join together in celebrating the Festival’s core values.

These are to further Bexhill’s identity as a cultural destination, to celebrate the rich talent of its community, to engage musical education as a core element, to bring world class performers to Bexhill, to increase local and regional tourism, and to strengthen the economic impact within the town

This year’s programme is nearing completion. Any individual, community group, school, church or voluntary organisation which is holding a musical event can be part of the celebration by contacting Tony Mansi at [email protected] by the end of this month.

Tony commented: “I am amazed how the Bexhill community has embraced Bexhill Festival of Music since its inception, and on behalf of my trustees, I am proud of the enormous support that we have received.

The Festival has grown from a handful of events in its first year to 46 events last year, many of which played to capacity audiences, which proves what a diverse amount of local talent Bexhill possesses.

We hope that our tenth year will be the biggest and best yet. Well done Bexhill.”

Tickets are now on sale for fundraiser and increasingly popular event The Last night of the Bexhill Festival Proms, to be held on Sunday July 3 at the De La Warr Pavilion.

It will feature the Sussex Concert Orchestra, professional soloists and a packed programme of Johann Strauss together with the usual proms favourites.

The organiser asks if anyone able to offer or suggest, a rehearsal venue with a piano for the charity, either free of charge or at a nominal cost.
