Two ‘deliberate’ car fires break out on the same street in Eastbourne

Two car fires that broke out on the same street in Eastbourne were ‘deliberate’, according to the service.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) said it was called at 1.14am on Saturday, April 22, to reports of two cars alight in Kirkstall Close.

Crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put out the fires, according to the service.

A spokesperson said: “There are no reports of injuries. The fires are being treated as deliberate.”

Sussex Police added: “Upon arrival both vehicles, which were parked apart from each other, were extensively damaged.”

Officers said enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 83 of 22/04.
