GARDENERS' ASSOCIATION SPRING SHOW: is on Saturday 19 March from 2.30 pm '“ 4.00 pm in the Victory Hall. Do look around your garden and think about entering the Show '“ it is a lovely village tradition but needs support both with people entering and people attending. If you haven't entered before please look in the Year Book to see what you could contribute to make the show a success. Entries forms to High Trees, Oldlands Avenue, by phone 811337, or by email to [email protected]. We welcome all entries and would love to see more children enter the categories. This year the children's categories are for Under 5s A Macaroni Bracelet/warrior band or a decorated hardboiled egg. 5 '“ 7 years A collage of a spider and its web in natural materials or a decorated hardboiled egg. 8 '“ 11 years a Pizza face max 10 cm or A collage of a spider and its web in natural materials. This year's competition cake is a Cinnamon Iced Gingerbread. Why not have a go at this the Great Balcombe Bake Off!

CINEMA: Tickets are on sale now for Spectre in the Victory Hall on Friday 18 March at 7.30 pm. The film stars Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz and Lea Seydoux it is a 12A. Tickets £6 in Threads.

BOWLS CLUB COFFEE MORNING: takes place on Saturday 19 March 10 – 12 noon in the Parish Room. All welcome 50 p entry. Raffle, tombola, cake stall etc.

QUIZ NIGHT: in aid of the Mark Henry Archer Tribute Fund at Bloodwise takes place in the Balcombe Club on Saturday 19 March at 7.00 pm. Tickets are £10 per person which includes a buffet: teams of 6 people. All teams registered pre-night please. To register and more information contact [email protected].

BALCOMBE BULL RUN: is on Sunday 20 March at 10.30am. The Bull Run is now in its 3rd year, and is a delightful run over the fields, paths, lanes and tracks of Balcombe Estate. Refreshments will be available in the school hall for all competitors and supporters. You can enter online through the Balcombe School website or via the link on www.facebook.com/BalcombeBullRun. There is a maximum field of 150 runners, so apply early to avoid disappointment. If you would like to help marshal out on the day (from 10am til 11.30am, FREE bacon sandwich!), please ring Mat, on 07795 451 156.

REPOWERBalcombe: the local renewable energy co-operative has launched a new share offer to raise £110,000 for the installation of 100kWp of solar PV on two local schools.
